If you've spent any time in the Long Island country music scene over the last few years, chances are you've seen Matt Misser & The Highway bringing their high-energy brand of country music to stages across the island.

The band came together about two and a half years ago when fate, timing, and a little local music scene networking lined up perfectly. Matt Misser, Kyle Sheehan, and Brett Dawson were performing as an acoustic trio and were looking to expand their sound into a full electric country band. At the same time, drummer Sal Natale had recently left his previous country project and was looking for the right fit. Thanks to Brian from Daisy's, the connection was made, and the foundation of Matt Misser & The Highway was born. To complete the lineup and add even more depth to the band's sound, guitarist Scott Price joined the group.

Today, the lineup consists of:

🎤 Matt Misser – Lead Vocals

 🥁 Sal Natale – Drums

🎸 Kyle Sheehan – Lead Guitar

 🎸 Scott Price – Guitar

 🎸 Brett Dawson – Bass & Vocals

Musically, Matt Misser & The Highway draw inspiration from today's modern country artists while blending in elements of Southern rock and influences from the pop music of the 1990s and 2000s. The result is a sound that feels both familiar and fresh, combining modern country energy with a broad appeal that keeps crowds engaged from the first song to the last.

In addition to performing crowd-favorite country hits, the band also incorporates original music into their shows, giving audiences a taste of their own unique sound and songwriting.

As for the name? There's no complicated backstory. The band was built around frontman Matt Misser, and "The Highway" simply felt like the perfect companion to the name, reflecting the band's country roots and love of life on the road.

One thing that stands out about Matt Misser & The Highway is their passion for the Long Island live music scene. From bars and clubs to festivals and special events, the band has built a reputation for delivering energetic performances and creating a fun atmosphere wherever they play.

That dedication paid off in a big way in 2025 when Matt Misser & The Highway were crowned champions of the Giotopia Battle of the Country Bands at 89 North Music Venue, earning recognition as one of the top country acts on Long Island.

With strong musicianship, a growing catalog of original music, and a genuine love for performing, Matt Misser & The Highway continue to build momentum and win over fans throughout the region.
